French pay-television broadcaster beIN Sports has announced it will launch a new multi-sports channel next month.
BeIN Sports 3, which will launch on September 15, will feature handball, tennis, volleyball and athletics.
The channel will also feature football matches, such as domestic top-tier Ligue 1 and Uefa Champions League games, when there are more than beIN Sports 1 and 2 can accommodate.
The broadcaster now has “significantly more than two million subscribers,” according to Yousef AL Obaidly, the president of beIN Sports France.
The broadcaster’s managing editor, Florent Houzot, added: “We did not acquire any additional rights for beIN Sports 3. We already had the rights, but they will receive better exposure on this new channel.”
