BeIN renews EFL rights in multiple markets

BeIN Media Group has struck a four-season deal for English Football League rights in multiple markets.

BeIN will hold exclusive EFL rights in: 24 countries across the Middle East and North Africa, Australia, New Zealand, France and Turkey. The multi-territory dealwill run from 2018-19 to 2021-22.

BeIN struck the deal with the Pitch International agency, which holds EFL international rights in a five-season deal, from 2017-18 to 2021-22. The broadcaster will be able to show EFL Cup matches and EFL league matches: the EFL includes the second-tier Championship, third-tier League One and fourth-tier League Two.

EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey described beIN as the league’s “most prominent overseas partner”.

The new EFL deal means beIN will remain the home of English football in Mena. Last month it extended its English Premier League rights deal by three seasons, from 2019-20 to 2021-22.
