BBC to show Welsh rugby league

The BBC Two Wales division of the UK public-service broadcaster has agreed a deal to show coverage of the domestic Principality Premiership rugby union tournament.

The deal will run until at least the end of the 2018-19 campaign.

BBC Two Wales will show live coverage of matches on Friday evenings and via the BBC Sport website.

The coverage will begin with the game between Ebbw Vale and Aberavon on September 7.

BBC Two Wales’ Scrum V programme will also broadcast highlights on Sundays.

The Premiership will be reduced from 16 to 12 clubs at the end of the 2018-19 season, with promotion and relegation from the Championship set to be reintroduced.
