Barcelona signs off on sponsor renewals

Spanish LaLiga football club Barcelona has confirmed that it has extended partnerships with Turkish domestic appliances brand Beko and Catalan brewer Damm.

Beko’s new three-year deal with the club covers the 2018-19 to 2020-21 seasons and will grant the company continued exposure on Barcelona’s training kit, and on the sleeve of the first team’s playing shirts.

News of the deal was first reported last month. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but multiple reports have stated it will be worth €19m ($23.5m) per season.

Beko first partnered with the club in 2014.

Damm, meanwhile, has signed a new four-year deal with Barcelona that runs until June 2022. Damm, which has sponsored Barcelona for 15 years, becomes a global partner of the club under an expanded agreement that also encompasses new territories.

Both agreements are set for formal presentations at a later date. Barcelona said in a statement: “The Board of Directors expresses its satisfaction with the achievement of these agreements, since they contribute to the achievement of the objectives of growth and economic sustainability foreseen in the Strategic Plan approved by the Board of Directors for this mandate.

“In addition, both agreements are framed in line with associating the club with the partners most suited to the values and traits that define the Barça brand, and with the challenge of obtaining the best contracts in the world of sports sponsorship in each category.”
