Lagardère Sports, the sports marketing division of conglomerate Lagardère, has extended its host broadcast and rights distribution partnership with the Scottish Open Badminton Grand Prix.
Under the new three-year deal, Lagardère Sports will serve as the event’s host broadcaster from 2017 to 2019. It will also continue to distribute the worldwide media rights for the competition over the same period.
Lagardère Sports provided live coverage of the 2016 event, which concluded last month, in Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, France and Germany.
The 2017 edition will take place from November 22-26 at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena, with a new broadcast deal with an unnamed Chinese partner having already been signed up by Lagardère Sports. The deal will provide coverage on five provincial television channels in China.
