Austrian FA extends long-running deal with tourism body

The Austrian Football Association (ÖFB) has opted to renew its partnership with Burgenland Tourismus, the tourism body for the Austrian state of Burgenland.

The two-year deal will run until 2020, extending a relationship that began in March 1997.

Burgenland Tourismus will continue to work with the ÖFB to promote the state as a destination for football training camps. Professional and amateur clubs, as well as, national teams currently travel to Burgenland to train.

The body will also benefit from a branding presence on LED advertising boards and interview backdrops during Austrian national team games.

ÖFB president Leo Windtner said: “The partnership between Burgenland Tourismus and the ÖFB is almost legendary and is marked by a solid foundation of trust. Mutual appreciation and goal-oriented cooperation have been the sustainable basis for this.

“Burgenland Tourism is a mainstay within the ÖFB family. The partnership has been in existence for 21 years, which is extraordinary in today's changing times.”
