German automotive manufacturer Audi has reached a sponsorship agreement with the China Winter Sports Administration.
The Yutang Sports website said that under the deal, Audi becomes an official sponsor of China’s figure skating, short track skating, snowboard halfpipe, alpine skiing and freestyle skiing aerials national teams.
The Chinese skiing team will have the opportunity to train overseas and test in Audi’s wind tunnels.
Additionally, Audi has partnered with three Chinese skiing resorts at Jilin Beidahu, Zhangjiakou Yunding and Changbai Mountain Wanda to improve the infrastructure at the locations and agreed to sponsor the International Ski Federation’s (FIS) World Snow Day in the country.
Audi’s sponsorship follows the IOC’s decision to award the 2022 winter Olympic Games to Beijing on Friday.
