ATP Media to ramp up coverage plans

The ATP Media broadcast division of the ATP World Tour men’s tennis series will significantly increase live match production at Masters 1000 tournaments in 2016.

More than 100 additional singles matches will be produced, while coverage of doubles matches will also be increased. In all, 24 additional courts will be produced across eight of the Masters 1000 tournaments from next year. The step up in production will start from the 2016 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells in March, where a minimum of 96 live matches across eight courts will be produced.

The broadcast enhancements are underpinned by a $300m (€283m) investment in television production over the next 10 years.

Matches will be made available to ATP Media’s global rights-holders and will also be shown on its official live streaming service, TennisTV.

ATP Media chief executive Mark Webster added: “This is the first step in a series of broadcast enhancements ATP Media will be making in the near future.”
