Chinese telecommunications company Huawei has been named as an official supporter of this year’s Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which will be held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Huawei will provide mobile communications devices to aid the operational delivery of the Games.
Huawei has had a presence in Turkmenistan for more than 15 years and currently sponsors the World Goresh Federation, the Goresh Federation of Turkmenistan and the National Belt Wrestling Federation of Turkmenistan.
Wang Ke, general manager of Huawei Turkmenistan, said: “Ashgabat 2017 is a huge milestone in Turkmenistan’s modern history. Without a doubt, the Games will be a showcase of friendship, solidarity and inspiration. As (an) official supporter of the Games, we are delighted to be part of such a great sporting event. Last but not least, I would like to reiterate our strong commitment to further contribute to the development of communications and IT sphere of Turkmenistan.”
The Games will run from September 17-27.
