Arsenal to aid Kenyan football development through SportPesa partnership

English Premier League football club Arsenal has entered into a partnership with online sports betting firm SportPesa.

The company has been named Arsenal’s official betting partner in Kenya. The length of the agreement was not disclosed.

As part of the deal, SportPesa will have a presence on the club’s digital and social media channels, while various activities and marketing initiatives will be organised to promote the partnership. Kenyan supporters will also be given the chance to win tickets to Arsenal home games.

In addition, the two parties will set up training camps in Kenya to support SportPesa’s grassroots initiatives.

Arsenal’s chief commercial officer Vinai Venkatesham said: “Arsenal has huge support across Africa and we look forward to engaging further with our fans in Kenya while also helping to drive the SportPesa business and, through a wide range of initiatives, the development of football in the country.”

Ronald Karauri, SportPesa’s chief executive, added: “Our aim is to see Kenya participate in the 2022 Fifa World Cup. We are also very excited for this partnership and are looking forward for greater revolution in the Kenyan football world.”
