Allianz backs Gold Coast 2018

German financial services company Allianz has agreed a deal to sponsor the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia, while it has also renewed its partnership with the Australian Paralympic Committee.

Allianz Australia will support training programs and facilities, as well as provide medical equipment and travel needs during the Games, which run from April 4-15.

The company’s new partnership with the APC will run until 2021. As part of the extended agreement, Australian para-athletes Madison de Rozario and Nic Beveridge will take part in behind-the-scenes features which will be showcased on Allianz’s Facebook page during the Games.

Wheelchair racer De Rozario (pictured) and triathlete Beveridge are both Allianz ambassadors and are expected to be medal contenders at the Games.

Peter Beattie, chairman of the Games’ organising committee, said: “GC2018 will have the largest integrated para-sport program in Commonwealth Games history with 38 medal events across seven para-sports.

“We’re focused on making these Games the most accessible in Commonwealth Games history and hope to inspire a new generation of athletes across Australia and the Commonwealth.”
