ESPN Cricinfo.com provides a comprehensive live cricket service online as well as detailed statistics, quality editorial comment and analysis. The site was relaunched in 2009 following ESPN’s purchase of the original Cricinfo site. The new design aimed to balance advertisement and content, while at the same time providing new opportunities for marketers. The new-look site at that time built a robust sponsorship element in the various offerings in the website which aimed to benefit advertisers without detracting from the fan experience.
