Olympic Council of Malaysia

The Commonwealth Games will not be heading to Malaysia in 2026, after the Southeast Asian country's government rejected a hosting offer, citing costs.

The Olympic Council of Malaysia said it has been offered the chance to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) pledging £100m (€117.6m/$128.5m) to support such an undertaking.

The Southeast Asian Games Federation has awarded hosting rights for its biennial multisport Games to Malaysia in 2027 and to Singapore in 2029
