Wrexham AFC to compete in American tournament for $1m prize

Wrexham AFC's popularity in the United States has continued to grow, thanks to Hollywood actors turned owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and their Disney-backed documentary series Welcome to Wrexham, leading to an appearance in The Soccer Tournament (TST), a 7v7 competition for a winner-take-all $1m (€930,000) grand prize.

"Wrexham AFC is an incredible story showcasing the experience that can unfold when fans, players and owners are equally committed to the Club and the community," TST founder and chief executive officer Jon Mugar said.
