The World Rally Championship (WRC) is eyeing a return to the Middle East for the first time since 2011.

The rallying series is in the process of finalising next year’s calendar. Motorsport outlet Autosport reports that organisers are hoping to increase the schedule from 13 to 14 races, with six races likely to be staged outside of Europe, from 2023. The series is reported to be in discussion with several parties about hosting the extra race.
