World Skate has cancelled its 2022 Park and Street World Championships, which were due to be held in Rio de Janeiro next month, because of “organisational and financial” concerns about the local organising committee.

The championships were scheduled to be held in Praça Duó from October 2 to 16 but, in a joint letter, World Skate president Sabatino Aracu and secretary general Robert Marotta announced they will no longer take place.
