The IMG agency has announced the appointment of Paul Bellamy as the new managing director of the International Motorsport Federation’s (FIA) World Rallycross Championship (World RX).

Bellamy joins World RX from BSI Speedway, where he has been managing director of the International Motorcycling Federation’s (FIM) Speedway World Championships, Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup.

He will begin his new role on September 1, with current operations director Torben Olsen becoming the new managing director of BSI Speedway.

Rob Armstrong will remain in his role as IMG’s senior vice-president and global head of motorsport.

Earlier this month, the Pro12 pan-European rugby union club competition unveiled the appointment of Martin Anayi to the newly created role of managing director. Due to begin his new role in October, Anayi will join Pro12 from IMG, where he has been serving as vice-president and managing director of World RX.
