The number of visitors to Qatar for the Fifa World Cup is set to fall short of the organisers' initial expectations, according to a report by Reuters.

While Qatar had predicted 1.2 million would visit during the tournament, an organisers' report seen by Reuters said just over 765,000 had visited during the first two weeks of the tournament, the peak period for inbound travellers. With only eight teams and eight matches left, the final visitor number will fall short of the original estimate.
