Reuters reports that FIFA yesterday dropped a rule that tickets could only be bought online or in a ballot. Ticket counters in shopping malls and a popular supermarket chain will sell the tickets.
Seats at all 64 matches, including 300 at the final, are available. FIFA had previously said the final was sold out.
The sales drive will make tickets much more accessible for local fans. A large proportion of South Africans did not have the services to pay for tickets electronically, on the internet or by the complex ballot procedure set up at local banks.
