English Premier League club West Ham United has extended its contract with kit supplier Umbro.
The long-term extension means Umbro will continue to fill the designation it has held since the start of the 2015-16 season.
As part of the deal, the brand supplies all official playing kits for West Ham’s men’s, women’s and academy sides, as well as training and leisurewear.
As detailed by SportBusiness Soccer, the previous contract between the two organisation’s was worth about £5m (€5.9m/$6.6m) per season and had been due to run until the end of 2022-23 season.
Karim Virani, chief commercial officer at West Ham, said: “The enhanced agreement represents the club’s continued commercial strength off the pitch, which ultimately is for the benefit of things on the pitch. The new agreement places it among the biggest in football in this country.”
Umbro’s presence in the Premier League also includes the kit supply rights at Burnley, Bournemouth and Everton, though the last of these will expire at the end of the 2019-20 season, with Swiss brand Hummel set to takeover.
West Ham also boosted their shirt sponsorship portfolio recently with the upgrading of its contract with trading company Scope Markets to include the sleeve sponsorship rights.
