Wada assessing Russian responses, Microsoft details Strontium cyberattacks

The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) has said it has received further responses from Russian authorities to its queries relating to “inconsistencies” found in data retrieved from a Moscow laboratory, while Microsoft’s Threat Intelligence Center has reported “significant cyberattacks” originating from the Strontium group tying in with the latest timeline concerning the ongoing probe into the Russian doping scandal.

The dual developments come as Wada prepares to rule on the status of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (Rusada), with the decision potentially impacting on whether Russia will be able to compete at the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
