Swiss household appliance manufacturer V-Zug has signed up as an official sponsor of the International Ice Hockey Federation’s 2020 World Championship.

This year’s event is being held in the Swiss cities of Zurich and Lausanne from May 8-24, with V-Zug to receive exposure on rink-boards, press conference backdrops and a wide range of advertising assets at the venues. The manufacturer will also have the right to use the official logo and mascot for promotional purposes as well as organising fan activities at both arenas.

The agreement was brokered by the Infront agency, the IIHF’s exclusive media and marketing partner.

Attila Castiglioni, V-Zug director for the service and marketing department, said: “Ice hockey represents the same values that are important to us as a company as well: discipline, commitment, passion for detail and precision.”

V-Zug joins an official sponsor roster that also includes Zurich, AJ Produkter, Nike, Nivea Men, Patron, Pirelli, Raiffeisen Bank, Stadler, Swiss, Tissot and Liqui Moly.
