The 2025 Fifa Club World Cup could reportedly be held in North America ahead of the following year’s World Cup, which is being hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

According to ESPN, world governing body Fifa is ready to give the three countries the option to host its events to help prepare for the inaugural 48-team World Cup. But it is unconfirmed if that includes the Club World Cup.

Fifa confirmed that China will become the first host of its expanded Club World Cup in 2021, stating that the revamped format will have a “major impact” financially.

The participation model to determine the clubs that qualify from each confederation will be finalised in a consultation process between Fifa and the six confederations.
