The Brazilian Basketball League (LNB), organiser of top-tier club competition the NBB, has agreed a one-season extension to its partnership with education institution Centro Universitário Salesiano de São Paulo (UNISAL).
The agreement is for the 2019-20 NBB season, which tipped off on Saturday. During the 2018-19 campaign, UNISAL students were provided with hands-on experience of working at a sports event by participating in the staging of the NBB’s Jogo das Estrelas.
This initiative will return for the NBB’s All-Star Weekend in 2019-20, which is scheduled to take place in São Paulo from March 20-22. Meanwhile, NBB executives will participate in UNISAL lectures and workshops.
Eduardo Capucho, rector of UNISAL, said: “The main objective of the UNISAL educational community is to create opportunities for student development. The relationship with NBB opens new opportunities and new development perspectives for our students and also for the growth of basketball practice in our country.”
The UNISAL deal comes after the LNB agreed an extension to its partnership with US beer brand Budweiser and signed up construction products manufacturer Plastubos as a new sponsor ahead of the 2019-20 season.
