Brazilian football club Santos has extended its deal with the educational institution Unicesumar as the sponsor of the club’s shorts.
Under the deal, which runs to the end of 2020, the brand will also be present on the club’s training uniforms, digital platforms, pitch-side perimeter boards and interview backdrops. It will also continue to promote discounts for Santos members.
Earlier this year, Santos extended its kit branding deal with main shirt sponsor Algar and back-of-shirt sponsor Philco. Algar is a Brazilian telecommunications company. Philco is a consumer electronics company.
Marcelo Frazão, marketing and communications executive at Santos, said the number of extensions at the club was an important commercial indicator.
“We have set up a professional service and activation structure, which ends up creating loyalty and generating more results for our sponsors.
“More than just brand display, we built with Unicesumar a more complete list of deliveries with various activations, promotions and presence in our social networks that we intend to intensify and innovate in this new period until the end of 2020,” Frazão said.
Unicesumar is a higher education institution present in all Brazilian states with more than 190,00 students.
As well as its 600 distance education centres throughout Brazil, the institution has two international centres located in Miami and Dubai.
