The status of this year’s Anniversary Games is up in the air after UK Athletics insisted that London Stadium’s contract to host the event must be honoured amid plans to relocate the meet.

The event is due to take place on July 13 at London Stadium, which primarily serves as the home of Premier League football club West Ham United. It had been hoped that around 20,000 fans would be able to attend the event, which forms part of World Athletics’ Diamond League calendar.
