Uefa to launch offside technology at Helsinki’s European Super Cup match

Uefa, European football’s governing body, has announced that semi-automated offside technology (SAOT) will debut in European club competitions at the upcoming European Super Cup match in Helsinki.

SAOT will be in place for the game between last season’s Champions League and Europa League winners, Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt, at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium on August 10.
