UCI World Tour cycling team AG2R La Mondiale has added Citroën as a co-title sponsor ahead of the 2021 season.

The team will be rebranded as AG2R Citroën Team in January 2021 ahead of the new campaign.

Further details of the new deal are set to be released in a press conference prior to the 2020 Tour De France, which will take place from August 29 to September 20.

French insurance firm AG2R La Mondiale has held the main sponsor designation of the team since 2001.

The 2021 UCI World Tour season will begin on January 19 with the Tour Down Under event in Australia.

The news represents the second name change for one of the tour’s teams in recent weeks.

WorldTour cycling team Team Ineos will switch its name to Ineos Grenadiers to align with the new Ineos automotive SUV vehicle Grenadier.
