Tokyo Organising Committee president ‘proud’ as Paralympics draw to a close

The president of the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee Seiko Hashimoto said she was “proud” of Japan for hosting the delayed Olympics and Paralympics despite the ongoing challenges around the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speaking at a press conference on the final day of the Paralympics, Hashimoto said that both events passed without any major problems and the safety of all participants and the Japanese public.
