The International Olympic Committee's executive board meets today (Wednesday) to discuss preparations for the Tokyo Olympics, but is not expected to consider cancelling the event amid increasing scrutiny of the possibility of running it safely.

Reuters reports that today's meeting, which is being conducted remotely, is not likely to discuss cancellation, but will focus on matters including athlete vaccination, spectator and international visitor attendance, and safety regulations.
