Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 confirm partnership

The organising committees of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, under which both organisations will cooperate on the delivery of their events.

The two local organising committees will share knowledge and expertise through the knowledge transfer programmes operated by the IOC and the IPC, sharing Games-related experiences relating to issues such as sustainability, education and technology.

The IOC and IPC hope that the deal will help in the promotion of the Olympic and Paralympic movements across east Asia.

The MoU will also see future ongoing collaboration to promote sporting and cultural exchanges between Japan and China.
