Timing uncertainty surrounds 2020-21 NHL season

As the National Hockey League nears the conclusion of an operationally successful resumption of its 2019-20 season amid the Covid-19 pandemic, league commissioner Gary Bettman said there remains no known parameters about the scope and timing of the following season.

Speaking just prior to the September 19 start of the Stanley Cup Finals between Dallas and Tampa Bay being held in the Canadian market of Edmonton, Alberta, Bettman said no firm decisions of any type have been made with the NHL Players Association about the 2020-21 season.
