Live Nation-owned Ticketmaster has signed a multiyear agreement to be the ticketing provider for Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres.
Shifting over from a prior relationship with MLB-owned Tickets.com, the Padres beginning with the 2020 season will use Ticketmaster for both its home games at Petco Park and all concerts and live events taking place at the new Sycuan Stage inside the ‘Park at the Park’, located beyond the ballpark’s center-field wall and officially unveiled earlier this year.
The rollout in San Diego will include Ticketmaster’s Presence digital ticketing platform, enabling a wide array of mobile ticketing features, improved fan entry into the ballpark, and additional data tracking capabilities for the club.
The Sycuan Stage, marking the first outdoor venue of its kind located inside of a MLB ballpark, features a capacity of more than 9,500 across its 2.8 acres. Musical acts slated to perform there this fall include UB40, the Dropkick Murphys, and the Deftones.
“San Diego is a hub for technological innovation and we want to provide our Padres fans with innovative and seamless ways to make their time at the ballpark even more enjoyable,” said Erik Greupner, Padres’ president of business operations.
