Subscription sports news website The Athletic is entering the Australian market and has agreed a deal with sports streaming platform Optus Sports as part of its launch effort.
Optus Sports will carry free-to-access text and video content from The Athletic in a year-long deal that could be extended, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. The content will include articles about the English Premier League, Uefa Champions League, Spanish LaLiga and Italian Serie A.
