Nihat Özdemir has resigned as president of the Turkish Football Federation amid a challenging time for the organisation as it seeks to conclude broadcast agreements for the domestic game.

Özdemir’s announcement at a TFF Board of Directors meeting yesterday (Monday) is said to have come as a surprise, with the 72-year-old having a year of his term in office still to serve ahead of elections planned for June 2023.
