Javier Tebas, the president of Spain’s LaLiga, is hoping the organization's rights deal with ESPN in the United States will push LaLiga to become the most popular soccer league in America.

Thanks to the creation of a joint venture between LaLiga and Relevent Sports Group, LaLiga secured a eight-year deal with ESPN from 2021-22 through 2028-29 worth a then record-setting $1.4bn (€1.16bn).
