Spanish broadcast watchdog wants changes to LaLiga rights sales in four European markets

Spain’s competition watchdog, the Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC), has recommended changes to the sale of broadcast rights to LaLiga in Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands and Malta.

The CNMC said that, in order "to guarantee a competitive, transparent, and non-discriminatory tendering process", the sales plans presented by LaLiga do not at present fully comply with the requirements of Royal Decree-Law 5/2015.
