Sony chief Yoshida expects Zee merger to close by September

Kenichiro Yoshida, chief executive of Sony Corporation, expects the long-awaited merger between India’s Sony Pictures Networks and Zee Entertainment Enterprises to close by September this year.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved the merger in October but it is yet to be finalised. Sony and Zee signed definitive agreements to merge back in December 2021 following three months of mutual due diligence.
