Dan Snyder has secured a deal to buy out three minority partners at Washington Football Team, putting an end to the bitter ownership battle that has rocked the National Football League franchise in the past year.

The NFL's finance committee has cleared the way for Snyder to buy out the 40.5 per cent stake collectively owned by Fred Smith, Robert Rothman, and Dwight Schar. Smith is the chief executive of FedEx Corp., Rothman is the chairman of Black Diamond Capital, and Schar is board chairman of NVR Inc.
