Dan Snyder is poised to tighten his grip on Washington Football Team by reportedly securing a deal to buy out the minority partners who have been trying to oust him as controlling owner of the National Football League franchise.

According to the New York Times, a bitter ownership battle that has raged this year is set to come to a somewhat unexpected ending with Snyder paying up to $900m for the 40 per cent stake collectively owned by Fred Smith, Robert Rothman, and Dwight Schar.
