Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahad al-Sabah has temporarily stepped down as president of the Asian Handball Federation (AHF) after he was re-elected to the role despite his recent conviction.

In elections held last Friday, Sheikh Ahmad (pictured) was named as the AHF’s president for the term running from 2021 to 2025. This came after Sheikh Ahmad, a key political figure in the global sports industry, was convicted by a Swiss criminal court of forgery linked to a plot to overthrow Kuwait’s emir.
