Shaila-Ann Rao appointed to interim motorsport role at FIA

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile has appointed experienced sports industry executive Shaila-Ann Rao as interim secretary general for motorsport, replacing the outgoing Peter Bayer.

Rao was most recently a special advisor, and before that General Counsel, at the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team. She was previously chief operating officer and then chief executive at the Sportfive agency between 2011 and 2013, and legal director at the FIA between 2016 and 2018.
