The Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (SAOC) has submitted a bid to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games.
The Saudi Press Agency reports that officials have sent a letter of interest to the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in which they propose staging the event at Trojena, a would-be mountain resort in the yet-to-be-built city of Neom, where daytime temperatures average about 40°C during summer and rarely drop below 10°C in winter.
