The Sanderson Farms Championship is moving its tournament dates for next season and increasing its prize fund in the hope of attracting a better field.
The Jackson, Mississippi, event will have its own weekend on the PGA Tour schedule from September 19-22 – it previously clashed with the WGC-HSBC Champions – and increase its purse to $6.6m (€5.8m), up from $4.4m.
The winner will also receive a full allotment of 500 FedExCup points and earn a spot in the field for the Masters.
The event’s new dates are in the a slot previously held for a tournament that would have been hosted NBA superstar Stephen Curry but fell through after a sponsor pulled out.
