National Women's Soccer League expansion club San Diego Wave has set a new attendance benchmark in the league by attracting a record 32,000 crowd for team's home opener at Snapdragon Stadium on September 17.

The widely expected record crowd for the 1-0 victory over fellow expansion team Angel City FC smashed the previous mark of 25,218, which was set in 2019 in a match at Providence Park between home side Portland Thorns and North Carolina Courage.
