The German football league will begin a formal sales process for a sale of an equity stake in its media rights business at the end of October, with a view to wrapping up a deal in the first quarter next year, according to Reuters.

The Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) has been speaking to private equity groups and other interested investors in recent weeks about the sale, which would involve a minority stake in a business housing the league's media rights.
