United Soccer League Championship club Sacramento Republic FC has committed to construct a new soccer-specific stadium in the Railyards district, a year after the city missed out on landing both a Major League Soccer and National Women's Soccer League club.

The new downtown facility will have a capacity of 12,000-15,000 seats and will have the ability to expand to more than 20,000 seats in the future.
