Sacramento Republic appoints Elevate Sports Ventures ahead of MLS move

United Soccer League Championship team Sacramento Republic FC has appointed Elevate Sports Ventures to assist with ticket sales and other commercial initiatives ahead of the franchise’s planned move to Major League Soccer in 2022.

Sports and entertainment consulting firm Elevate is a joint venture of the NFL San Francisco 49ers, Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, Ticketmaster, Live Nation, and the Oakview Group.

After a five-year, rollercoaster effort, Sacramento Republic was formally confirmed as MLS’s 29th expansion team last October. The team will play in a new $300m, 20,100-seat soccer-specific stadium in the downtown Railyards District of California’s capital city, which will be a centerpiece of a redevelopment project that will include housing, retail, theaters, parks, museums, a hotel, and a major medical center.

Elevate will help the team in suites sales and other premium offerings at the team’s planned stadium in the Railyards. It will also work on securing stadium naming rights and other corporate partnerships.

“They’re really an adviser across the board,” said Sacramento Republic president Ben Gumpert. “We only do this once, so we want to make sure it’s successful.”

The team has already signed a multiyear deal with healthcare provider UC Davis Health to sponsor Sacramento’s jerseys once the team joins MLS.

Elevate has also worked with MLS expansion team Inter Miami FC and the revamped XFL.
