USL Championship club Sacramento Republic FC is getting closer to clinching a spot in Major League Soccer (MLS). Long considered a front-runner for an MLS team, Sacramento has been overtaken by the likes of Nashville and Cincinnati recently but is slowly securing the financial and political backing to make its MLS dreams a reality.
