The International Ice Hockey Federation has confirmed a new venue in Helsinki for its forthcoming 2022 World Championship, with the original venue connected to Russians on the international sanctions list owing to the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

Helsinki Halli had been due to serve as the secondary venue for the Worlds, due to run in the Finnish capital and Tampere’s new Nokia Arena from May 13 to 29.
